Broyhill Crest Recreation Club (BCRC), located at 7212 Early Street, is the community gathering place. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Before public schools begin summer break, weekday hours begin at 1:00 p.m. and weekend hours begin at 11:00 a.m.

Renovated in 2007, the 25-meter pool features a roped-off lap lane and two 1-meter boards. Babies and toddlers can get their feet wet in the beach-access toddler pool which features four spray fountains and water toys. Activities include ping pong, basketball, tetherball, badminton, water basketball, horseshoes, multiple playgrounds, and year-round sand volleyball. Picnic tables and barbecue grills are located throughout the grounds. Club members may bring guests for a nominal fee.

Children up to age 18 can join the Barracudas, the club-sponsored swim team that competes during a 7-week season with other teams in the Northern Virginia Swim League. They also offer Bubbles, a developmental team for those just learning the four basic swimming strokes.

The entire community is invited to use the facility on the 4th of July. This annual event, sponsored by the Broyhill Crest Community Association, begins with a children’s parade in which bikes, trikes, scooters, and wagons are decorated in patriotic style and the kids compete to win ribbons. Traditional games, pool contests, a picnic, and visits from local politicians make this a neighborhood holiday celebration that should not be missed.
