SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
The BCCA, carrying out its mission of making our community a better place in which to live, sponsors several community social events for active Association members: A Spring, Fall, and Winter Fest with activities reflective of each season’s holidays, and a Fourth of July Youth Parade and Picnic for the entire family, held at the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club pool. These activities are supported by the annual collection of $10 in dues from each household.
THE LEN WOOD NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM
Since 1979, the Neighborhood Watch program has organized and trained residents to be alert to potential crimes in in the neighborhood. Five days a week, BCCA volunteers patrol Broyhill Crest and report any suspicious or unusual activity. Our program is named in honor of Len Wood who served for many years as the BCCA Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.
BCCA MEETINGS - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
The BCCA Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month (except for December) at 7:00 p.m. The meetings are held both in-person and virtually. Information on each meeting, including access links, can be found on our
events calendar and on the board meeting schedule. All Broyhill Crest residents are invited to attend these meetings.
THE BCCA NEWSLETTER - the CREST
The BCCA newsletter, the Crest, is the primary means of communication with the residents of Broyhill Crest, and is provided to all active Association members.* It began as a mimeographed bulletin in the mid-1960s and was hand delivered. Today, it is an electronic newsletter emailed to Association members who provide their email address, and it is also available electronically on the BCCA website.
*Residents become active members of the Broyhill Crest Community Association upon payment of their $10 in annual dues.
THE BCCA WEBSITE
This website contains a wealth of information about the Broyhill Crest Community Association and about the community itself—from who we are, what we do, our schools, parks, recreation facilities, and a monthly calendar, to archives of past issues of the Crest, monthly Board meeting minutes, and a gallery of photos. Have ideas about how we can use the site better?
